Gorgeous Guam

Size of Island:
Guam lies on the world at 13.2°N and 13.7°N and between 144.6°E and 145.0°E. Guam is approximately 30 miles long.
Landforms:
The Island of Guam was formed by the coming together of two volcanoes.  The southern land forms are basically volcanic with an elongated mountain ridge dividing the inland valleys and coastline. The highest point is Mount Lamlam with an elevation of 1,334 feet. Some Natural Resources are fish, fruits, and minerals.
Plants and Animals:
Of all the animals on Guam, there are two extinct, the Koko Bird and the Fruit Bat. But there are also some very common animals, such as sea turtles, the brown tree snake, shrew, bats, slugs, many varieties of crabs, caraboa, toads, sea cucumbers, sharks, and many more.  There are more than 600 species of plants on Guam.  Generations of Chammoros have used these plants for comfort, health, etc. A common flower there is the Plumeria, or Frangipani, pictured on the left.  The bougenvilliea, or puti tai nobio, also blooms in many colors around the island.  Guam has so many plentiful trees that grow fruits such as, papayas, bananas, cocunut, breadfruit, magoes, guavas, mountain apples, and limes. 
Climate:
The climate in Guam is warm all year, ranging from the low 70's to the high 80's.  Typhoons and various types of tropical storms are common.  But overall, Guam is gorgeous!
